Why volunteer?

Volunteers are integral to the operation of Haven Society. There were over 15,000 volunteer hours worked last year. Haven Society is able to offer the level of services it does because of the dedication of volunteers who offer their time and talent in supporting the agency. Volunteering with Haven Society is an opportunity to make a very worthwhile contribution to your community.

What kind of work do volunteers do?

Haven Society offers a number of different volunteering opportunities. Volunteers provide support to our programs and clients, office assistance, special events or projects, gardening, Board of Directors, committee work, personal and healing services ( ie: hairdressing, reiki, etc) bingo, cooking and cleaning. These are just some ways you can share your skills with us as a volunteer.

What about training?

The volunteer program offers training, support and skill building and the time commitment is flexible to your schedule. An Organizational Orientation is available and is necessary for some volunteer positions, which provides an opportunity to learn about Haven Society and meet key people in the agency.

Haven Society appreciates the compassion and interest that you show by applying to volunteer with us. Just as the commitment required to volunteer will be significant, so too is the personal reward of making such an important contribution. We look forward to hearing from you.
