Scent Safe Statement
As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, we are excited to announce that Haven Society is a safe scent organization.
We believe that this Scent Safe Policy is a positive step toward fostering a more inclusive and considerate community. Your cooperation is crucial in making this policy a success, and we are confident that, together, we can create an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.
As a part of this policy, we ask all visitors to refrain from using or donating scented/fragranced products.

Haven's 40th
Anniversary
In 2018, Haven Society recognized 40 years of promoting safety for women, children, youth and families in the Nanaimo and Oceanside areas.
In 1978, women in Nanaimo discovered that they could call a number if they needed to leave an abusive husband or partner. Haven's handful of courageous volunteers had pagers to alert them to calls, and they often went alone to women's homes to help them. Families in the community opened up their homes for women who needed a place to go.

Forty years later, we look back with gratitude at the innumerable volunteers, board members, community members, and donors who helped to change the lives of tens of thousands of women in Central Vancouver Island.

Every year, thousands of women, children, youth and their families access Haven's continuum of services. By contributing to our 40th Anniversary campaign, you will help create a lasting impact in many lives in our community.
